For the first time in history, Pakistan opens the National Robotics Centre with 200 PhD scientists

ISLAMABAD – The National Centre of Robotics and Automation has beeninaugurated at the NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

The centre is designed on a consortium model with 11 labs from 13 Pakistaniuniversities being its part and the National University of Sciences andTechnology having the leading role.

These labs will be established by engineering and technology universitiesacross the country.

With the establishment of the four national robotics centres of excellencethrough a rigorous selection process, 200 PhD scientists and 45laboratories from all technology universities of the country had beenbrought together to resolve the toughest problems of the four emergingareas in question.

The centres were mandated to work closely with the industry and developprojects with high national impact through shared resources and expertise.
