PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak’s wife wasprevented from boarding a flight at Peshawar airport due to incompletedocuments, local media reported.
Amra Khattak had booked a seat on a private airline to go to the UnitedStates, but she was not allowed to board her flight at the Bacha KhanInternational Airport.
Airport authorities said that she did not have National Identity Card forOverseas Pakistanis (NICOP), adding that she wanted to travel abroad usingAmerican passport.
On 13 May 2013, Chairman PTI, Imran Khan nominated Pervez as the CM ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa, the top post in the province where Imran Khan’sPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is the single largest party with 45 out of99 seats, the party gained another 10 seats through allocation whichincreased its total seats to 55.
The five-year term of the provincial government is going to complete thismonth, and the name of the caretaker chief minister has been selected bythe govt and opposition.
