LAHORE – The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has sealed four major eateries,including two restaurants in Punjab’s capital city earlier this week.
A food safety team, under the supervision of a food safety officer, carriedout several raids and sealed Taipei Restaurant in Gulberg for using expiredproducts and unsatisfactory hygiene, including the presence of insects andseveral other issues.
The teams also sealed Tuscany Restaurant, located on M.M Alam road, forplacing preserved food on the ground, for using rancid oil; for labellingfood articles improperly and for having poor hygiene conditions.
Additionally, the food watchdog inspected the dairy section of the famousGourmet Foods located in Sundar Industrial Estate and sealed it for notcomplying with food safety standards. The vigilant Punjab Food Authorityteams also sealed the pizza and sweets section of Gourmet Foods during araid in Bhobhatian Chowk area of the city.
