UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will visit Bangladesh on Monday, to assess the sufferings of Rohingya refugees and progress toward their safe return to Myanmar.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, said the Secretary-General, along with other senior UN officials, will meet refugee communities and humanitarian workers, in Cox’s Bazar.
They will review situation of the newly arrived Rohingyas in Bangladesh, and assess progress towards a safe, voluntary and dignified return of the refugees in line with international standards.
There are an estimated nine hundred five thousand refugees in Cox’s Bazar.
