ISLAMABAD – Former Pakistani skipper, Misbah Ul Haq, has clarified hispolitical inclination ahead of the upcoming elections, rubbishing therumours swirling around.
In a Twitter message, the athlete negated media reports that he was backingPakistan Peoples Party candidate for NA-131 constituency of Lahore.
Misbah was responding to Abbtak’s report that he had thrown weight behindAsim Mehmood for the upcoming electoral tussle, stating that there was notruth to the news.
‘[The] TV channel should be ashamed of spreading rumours like that,’ saidthe 44-year-old Cricketing legend.
He also quipped that the media outlet was ‘trying to get a legal notice’.
Let it be known that the heavyweight candidates for the cut-throat battleof NA-131 are PTI chief, Imran Khan and firebrand leader of Pakistan MuslimLeague Nawaz, Khawaja Saad Rafique, among others.
