LAHORE – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday has initiatedgraft proceedings against officials of Punjab Police over alleged financialembezzlements.
As per details garnered, the probe has been initiated on basis of inquiryreport submitted by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdur Rab.
The anti-graft watchdog has summoned purchase record of bulletproofvehicles, jackets, helmets for Dolphin Squad, chains, umbrellas and othergoods imported for anti-riot force.
Well inside-aware further stated that the accountability body has drilledconcrete evidence pertaining to alleged corruption done by registrar andassistant director serving in office of Punjab Inspector General of Police(IG). NAB’s officials are also scrutinizing assets of several policeofficials.
On the other hand, the purchase record has not been handed over to NAB yetby former Punjab IG, owing to which the accountability body has pennedletters to various departments.
NAB will also send a draft in this regard to new Punjab IG.
