LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) allowed on Friday former prime ministerShahid Khaqan Abbasi to contest from his home constituency of NA-57, Murree.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi accepted Abbasi’sappeal against the appellate tribunal’s decision of rejecting hisnomination papers and disqualifying him for life.
The divisional bench of the LHC dismissed the tribunal’s order againstAbbasi.
On Thursday, the appellate tribunal had found Abbasi guilty of “concealingfacts and withholding information from voters” in his nomination formssubmitted for the constituency.
The written verdict said that Abbasi does not meet the requirements underArticle 62(1)(f) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
