ISLAMABAD: The cell phone users in Pakistan will continue to enjoy 100 percent tax-free mobile credit till phone companies come up with a tax deduction formula.
The good news for masses came on Thursday just three hour before end of a deadline the Supreme Court set for cellular firms to find an alternative tax collection mechanism.
According to our correspondent, the Federal Board of Revenue and telecommunication companies are likely to hold talks from Monday to set a mechanism on Supreme Court’s orders.
Till then, the consumers will enjoy tax-free mobile credit.
On June 13, the cellphone service providers and FBR were restrained by the apex court from charging the approximately 40% tax on mobile phone top-up cards for two weeks. APP/AFP
