LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has issued the NA-125ticket to Waheed Alam who was earlier to contest the elections from NA-133.
A notification in this regard has been issued. Now PML-N Lahore chapterpresident Malik Pervaiz Malik will be the party candidate from NA-133.
Earlier, the PML-N had decided to field Maryam Nawaz from the constituencythat was considered to be a stronghold of the party.
Maryam Nawaz had initially applied from both NA-125 (previously known asNA-120) and NA-127 (previously NA-123) to contest the elections.
Given her familiarity with the constituency, the party awarded her theparty ticket for NA-125. Surprisingly, a day before the party announced thetickets from Punjab in which she was a candidate from NA-125, her own teamannounced that she was running elections from NA-127 which after theannouncement of tickets created a bit of a confusion.
The NA-127 ticket was initially allotted to Pervaiz who had won twice fromthe constituency and his latest victory in 2013 was with a sizable margin.Given the huge lead that the party bagged in 2013, the constituency wasconsidered to be an easy win.
