ISLAMABAD – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday penned aletter to secretary establishment aimed at changing all four provincialchief secretaries and inspector generals (IGs) with immediate effect.
As per details acquired, ECP has given deadline till tomorrow to thecaretaker federal government in this regard.
ECP—in its press release—termed transfers indispensable for ensuringtransparent and biased elections.
On the other hand, the electoral body has summoned a high-level meeting forreviewing security arrangements for the much-anticipated general polls 2018on Thursday [June-14]. The huddle will begin at 10:00AM whereas ChiefElection Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza will preside over the session.Earlier, the meeting was to be held on Wednesday [June-13].
Secretaries for defence and interior will also attend the session. ECP hasalso summoned Director General Military Operation (DGMO), all chiefsecretaries and IGs to finalize security arrangements for avoiding anyuntoward situation.
On the other hand, the interim premier Nasirul Malik has summoned meetingof federal cabinet in Islamabad tomorrow [June-13] in this regard.
