LAHORE – Caretaker Law Minister Punjab Zia Haider on Tuesday sent anembarrassing reply to former Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s letter toPunjab Government.

Shehbaz Sharif had written to caretaker set-up seeking availability offacilities proper to ex- PM Nawaz Sharif who is languishing in jail alongwith daughter Mariam, her spouse Captain (R) Safdar after conviction inAvenfield Reference.

Responding to the demand the law minister said that Nawaz Sharif has beenprovided facilities already made available to prisoners by PML-N PunjabGovernment for consecutive two four-year stintsBlaming Sharifs regime for the poor state of jails, Mr. Haider assertedthat it was onus of PML-N government to take measures towards improvinginfrastructure and availability of basic jail facilities where they failedto do the needful. He, however, told Shehbaz Sharif that measures by caretaker governmentwere on to providing proper facilities to make jail conditions better.
