ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed PakistanElectronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to issue the show-causenotices to channels airing questionable paid political advertisements.

In a declaration issued after a briefing PEMRA Chairman to the ECP members,it said that questionable language is being used against politicalopponents in the tv commercials.

The ECP instructed the PEMRA to take action against channels for violatingthe code of conduct. The body has called for a complete estimation of theadvertisements, and directed PEMRA to provide its records.
