Pakistani Engineers have a great news as recognised internationally

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Engineering Council will now award the title of“International Professional Engineer” to its professionals after anagreement done between Washington Accord and Pakistan Engineering Council.

Washington Accord has allowed PEC to award the said title to its engineers.Washington Accord is a multilateral agreement between bodies responsiblefor recognition of tertiary-level engineering qualifications. According tothe agreement, the International Professional Engineer can now be award toengineers of all engineering disciplines. The Washington Accord hasapproved the authority to PEC on 29th June 2018 after reaching an agreementbetween both bodies.

It is important to mention that only Pakistani engineers have attained thisstatus in the international market.

Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi, Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council, said:

By winning the title of “International Professional Engineer”, Pakistaniengineers can benefit from these incentives:

– Pakistani engineers will be considered equivalent to any other professional engineer globally. PEC states that this kind of international ranking is not present to any other profession i.e. doctors, IT personnel, etc. – Pakistani engineers can now apply for jobs worldwide. – Pakistani companies/industries working abroad can now easily hire Pakistani engineers instead of foreigners, at competitive rates. – PEC is also going to make it mandatory for all Pakistani and foreign companies to hire 70% Pakistani “International Professional Engineers“ on all CPEC and other international projects.

It is a big step forward that Pakistani engineers will now be recognized atinternational level and can enjoy the job opportunities globally.
