ISLAMABAD : Ousted premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz andson-in-law Capt (retd.) Safdar will challenge the Avenfield referenceverdict in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday.
According to details, Khawaja Harris has prepared appeals against theaccountability court’s decision. All the three accused have signed theaffidavits.
Their lawyers have said that Nawaz and Maryam will face difficulty inreceiving relief if did not return to Pakistan in 10 days.
Meanwhile, Safdar is ready to surrender and is awaiting green signal fromNawaz Sharif.
His name has already been included in blacklist. The step was taken afterinterior ministry recommended to put names of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawazand Captain (r) Safdar on Exit Control List (ECL).
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) sources said that Safdar may flee thecountry however, he will be detained as soon as his arrest warrants arereceived.
On July 6, accountability court jailed former prime minister and PakistanMuslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz andson-in-law Captain (r) Muhammad Safdar for 10, 7 and 1 year respectively.
Announcing verdict judge, Muhammad Bashir ruled that the Avenfieldapartments of the Sharif family shall be seized by the federal government.
The judge while awarding 10 years imprisonment to Nawaz Sharif also imposedan eight million pound (Rs1.2billion) fine, while a fine of two millionpound (Rs322 million) has been imposed on his daughter Maryam Nawaz .
The court also issued permanent arrest warrants of ex-PM’s sons HassanNawaz and Hussain Nawaz.
