*ISLAMABAD – A letter has been sent to the interior ministry seeking theinclusion of the Sharif family’s names on the Exit Control List (ECL).*
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has requested the ministry to stopformer prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, sons Hassanand Hussain Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar from leaving thecountry.
Nawaz, Maryam, Hassan and Hussain are in London where they are visiting theailing Kulsoom Nawaz. Captain (retd) Safdar is in Pakistan where he hasbeen campaigning for the General Elections 2018.
NAB, in the letter, expressed its concern that Captain (retd) Safdar mayleave Pakistan before he is arrested. It has requested the ministry toissue a warrant against him as soon as possible.
The former prime minister has been awarded 10 years and Maryam has beenawarded seven in the Avenfield case while Captain (retd) Safdar was awardedone year.
He said he would return home once his wife’s condition improved. “I reallywant to talk to Kulsoom before I leave for Pakistan,” he said.
