ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk chaired the 26thmeeting of the National Security Committee at Prime Minister’s House onFriday.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Defence Lt Gen (R) Naeem KhalidLodhi, Minister for Foreign Affairs Abdullah Hussain Haroon, Minister forFinance Shamshad Akhtar, Minister for Interior Muhammad Azam Khan, Ministerfor Law/Information Syed Ali Zafar, Chairman Joint Chiefs of StaffCommittee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chief of Army Staff General QamarJaved Bajwa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Chief ofAir Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Director General ISI Lt GenNaveed Mukhtar and senior civil and military officials.
Minister for Finance Ms. Shamshad Akhtar gave a detailed presentation tothe participants about the deliberations during meetings of FinancialAction Task Force and International Cooperation Review Group held in Paris.
Details of the Action Plan and the way forward were also discussed duringthe meeting. The committee appreciated the efforts of the finance ministerand her team at the forum.
The participants reiterated a firm commitment to fulfilment of obligationsregarding combating money laundering and terror financing. The meetingreviewed the overall economic situation in the country. The financeminister made a detailed presentation on state of economy.
