Shutdown in Occupied Kashmir against Indian troops operations

SRINAGAR – In Occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Pulwamaagainst the four-hour long nocturnal operation carried out by the Indiantroops and police personnel in Rohmoo area of the district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops barged into their houses andstarted thrashing whatever came their way adding that even women andchildren were not spared.

The soldiers also arrested, at least, seven innocent youth besides smashingwindowpanes and damaging the parked vehicles.

Students of Muslim Educational Institute Pampore took to streets againstthe killing of classmate, Faizan Ahmad, during firing by Indian troops onprotesters at Chatapora in Pulwama on Friday.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Dar,in a statement said that the Indian troops had made the lives of the peoplein Hajin, Pulwama, Kulgam and other areas of the Kashmir Valley miserable.

The students of the Central University of Kashmir brushed aside theprotocol for Indian national anthem by refusing to stand up during thefirst convocation of the university, today. The event kicked off by playingthe national anthem of India, but the students did not stand up.

On the other hand, the demand for initiation of an independent commissionto investigate the gross human rights violations by the Indian forces inoccupied Kashmir was raised at a roundtable in Geneva.
