ISLAMABAD – Seasoned politician and member of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz,Zafar Ali Shah is poised to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, in another blowto the embattled former ruling party.
Zafar is expected to join the ‘Tsunami’ on Thursday as PTI supremo ImranKhan is expected to visit his house for a formal announcement in thisregard.
Shah has been a vocal worker of PML-N for years, however, after the PanamaPapers controversy he struck a cautious note in favouring his party, askingthe former premier Nawaz Sharif to explain his position and resign in thewake of allegations.
Reportedly, Ali Shah is the father-in-law of PTI chief’s close friendZulfi Bukhari, who has been appointed as in-charge of the election campaignfor the NA-53 seat (Islamabad).
Zafra Ali Shah is also contesting the upcoming elections for the saidconstituency, however, he might withdraw in favour of Imran Khan, if therumours regarding his inclusion in PTI are proven true in days to come.
