ISLAMABAD – Russia, Turkey and Iran have reaffirmed their determination tofight terrorism in Syria in order to ultimately eliminate all terroristorganizations including the Islamic States.
According to a statement, Russian Foreign Ministry said representativesfrom the three states at an international meeting held in Sochi agreed tocontinue joint efforts on facilitating the work of Syria’s constitutionalcommittee and promoting the political settlement in the war-torn country.
The statement said the participants also had “useful consultations” withthe United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan deMistura on Tuesday and agreed with him to hold the next round ofconsultations in Geneva in September.
They also called upon the international community to send more humanitarianaid to Syria and help create necessary conditions for the safe return ofSyrian refugees.
