ISLAMABAD – The caretaker government failed to implement the order ofaccountability court to confiscate the London flats of ousted premier NawazSharif in Avenfield reference case.
Despite the passage of three weeks, no directions related to the seizure ofproperty has been provided to the interior ministry.
The federal government was directed by the court to seize all the fourapartment of Avenfield flat under section-10 of NAB ordinance.
Sources say that the new government will implement the order of the court.
Sharif along with his political heir-apparent Maryam Nawaz and son-in-lawSafdar are serving 10-year, 7-year and 1-year jail sentence in Avenfieldreference case. The reference was filed by NAB on directives of SupremeCourt of Pakistan in Panama Papers case.
Thr trio has submitted appeals in IHC against the Avenfield referenceverdict.
The petitioners have requested the court to annul the decision pertainingto their imprisonment, fine, disqualification and forfeiture of property.
All the three accused should be released on bail till the final verdict andtheir conviction be suspended temporarily, it added.
