ISLAMABAD – Chief of Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces Admiral AdemirSobrinho called on Defence Minister retired Lt Gen Naeem Khalid Lodhi inRawalpindi today.
Matters relating to regional situation and bilateral cooperation came underdiscussion during the meeting. Regular exchange of trainees to each other’straining institutions also came under discussion.
Both the leaders exchanged views on enhancing and diversifying defencecooperation for which considerable potential existed between the twocountries.
It was agreed to share experiences with each other on matters like bordermanagement and counter-terrorism. The two sides also agreed oninstitutionalization of defence cooperation through a Memorandum ofUnderstanding.
Highlighting Pakistan’s role in the region and its relation withneighboring countries, the Minister dilated on Pakistan’s efforts toachieve peace and stability in the region.
Strongly condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, he saidPakistan has been providing multifaceted support to international communityin war against terrorism.
He said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations withBrazil and desires to expand cooperation in all fields.
