ISLAMABAD – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Pakistan Sirajul Haq rejecting theproposal of boycotting the parliament has said that the new PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government should be given a chance to work freely.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Sirajul Haq said that the JI wantscontinuation of democracy and supremacy of the parliament. He said thatthough the ECP failed in holding fair and free elections but stillconduction of election was a welcome sign.
Siraj said that lack of some intensely needed measures dented the pollingprocess. “Despite having reservations over the way general election washeld, the new government should be given a chance to prove itscapabilities,” the deputy president MMA added.
The JI chief said that the result of election were not released in timelymanner making the process suspicious and sending polling agents out whilethe votes were being counted was regrettable.
The MMA deputy president said that an effort had been made to targetdemocracy; however, despite having serious reservations, his party wasready to give a chance to the new government to prove itself.
Siraj further stated that we will wait for PTI Chief Imran Khan to fulfillhis promise of making Pakistan a welfare state like Madina.
