RAWALPINDI – A three-member team of the Pakistan Institute of MedicalSciences (PIMS) carried out medical check-up of former prime minister NawazSharif in Adiala Jail on Saturday.

The medical team headed by Dr Aijaz Qadeer along with a mobile laboratorycarried out electrocardiography (ECG) and sugar tests of the incarceratedformer premier, sources said.

The doctors suggested Sharif got his tests conducted regularly and sleepproperly.

The health of Sharif deteriorated due to intense heat in the cell where heis incarcerated.

Earlier a team of doctors from the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology ledby Maj-Gen (retd) Azhar Mehmood Kiyani also carried out the medicalexamination of Sharif and recommended him to be shifted him to a hospital.However, Sharif refused to go to the hospital and preferred to get medicaltests inside the jail.

Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (retd)Muhammad Safdar is serving a jail term after an accountability courtconvicted them in the Avenfield corruption reference.
