High time for world bodies to take notice of HR abuses in IOK: Mirwaiz

SRINAGAR: In Occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq says it is high time for the world bodies to take serious note of the human rights abuses by Indian troops in the valley.

In a statement in Srinagar, a spokesman for the forum said the unabated human rights violations in every nook and corner of Occupied Kashmir are an eye opener for international community.

He denounced heavy deployment of Indian forces in various parts of the occupied valley and subsequent search and frisking operation under the garb of utilizing special powers to harass masses.

The spokesman also condemned the continued imposition of curfew in south Kashmir’s Islamabad town where normal life of people has come to a standstill due to strict curfew.

Meanwhile, seven personnel of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force have been injured in a grenade attack in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
