Laraib Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi creates history

WASHINGTON – Pakistan’s first and youngest female Visual Effect (VFX)artist, Laraib Attaullah has worked on the new film — *Mission: Impossible– Fallout.*

Laraib, daughter of famous singer Attaullah Khan Niazi Esakhelvi has workedin Hollywood blockbusters as well. Starring Tom Cruise, Laraib Atta hasplayed an important role in a movie – ‘Mission Impossible’ which has a widewatching audience in Pakistan.

The visual effects artist, Laraib Atta achieved a big breakthrough at theage of 19 back in 2006, said in a recent interview with BBC *“Before Istarted the course I had no idea what VFX is. It’s just I knew this that itis magic for films.”*

Laraib added *“The first time I watched Toy Story that really inspired me,I was like wow how is this done… I did not know back then that I would getinto visual effects but it was in me all this time that something relatedto art and technology is what I wanted to do”.*

She said she had a hard time explaining to her family what she does butluckily they supported her in her goal. Laraib added she also wants toinspire other Pakistani women to come forward and achieve their goals.

Talking more she said, “back then when I started I was the only girl in thecourse and the youngest and of course the only Pakistani, the goal is toget more women, young people into this, and more Pakistanis.”

Other Hollywood blockbusters in which Laraib had shown her talent includesX-Men: Days of Future Past, Godzilla, Gravity, The Chronicles of Narnia:The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Prince Caspian, 10, 000 BC and JohnnyDepp’s Sweeney Todd.
