Nawaz Sharif likely to be shifted to hospital in medical emergency: Report

ISLAMABAD – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to be shifted tohospital over medical emergency.

He is reportedly ‘on the verge of kidney failure’ and a medical board hasrecommended his immediate transfer from Adiala jail to a hospital, Tribunehas reported.

Urea nitrogen in Sharif’s blood had risen to a dangerous level, and he issuffering from excessive sweating and dehydration due to humidity in theprison. His heart beat is also irregular, *Express News* quoted sources assaying on Sunday.

According to insiders, a medical board examined the former prime ministertoday.

A source in caretaker government, however, said Sharif is medicallyexamined in Adiala jail on a regular basis and his medical tests appearnormal.

If physicians, who examine Sharif, officially recommend his treatment in ahospital, a medical board would be constituted to examine the ex-PM’shealth and action would be taken in the light of related recommendations ofthe board, the official said.

However, this news could not be confirmed till the filing of this report.
