ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan has given a blow to the Jang andGeo group over false reporting of the court cases.

SC on Thursday warned that Jang/Geo Group could be banned from coveringcourt proceedings “if deliberate misreporting is done in future”.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar clarified that his laststatement regarding the formation of a Joint Investigation Team wasmisreported and the TV channel aired an entire program discussing it.Justice Nisar further said that he had referred to the JIT formed in theDawn Leaks case by the federal government.

The chief justice added that he unintentionally said Panamagate case whichmade headlines in the country’s media. “Ask Mir Ibrahim [publisher] toappear before SC tomorrow,” the CJP asked a Jang reporter present in thecourtroom.
