Shahid Afridi sends special message to India over Independence day with few wishes

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s former Skipper Shahid Afridi wished IndiaIndependence Day and hoped for the revival of cricketing ties between thetwo neighbouring countries.

Shahid Afridi, who has remained in headlines for controversial politicalcomments during his playing days and after getting retired, also hoped fora peaceful and prosperous region.

Pakistan and India have not played a bilateral series since 2012/13. Thetwo boards, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board of Cricket Control India(BCCI), signed an MoU at the time of ‘Big Three’ formation for playing sixbilateral series from 2015 to 2022.

However, India have breached the signed MoU, citing their government doesnot allow them to play against Pakistan.
