ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has unveiled thestatus of the reserved seats of women and minorities in the NationalAssembly.
ECP has stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will get 28 reserved womenand five minority seats in the national assembly.
According to the official party standings issued by the ECP, the PTI isleading the seat tally with 125 seats after inclusion of nine independentcandidates.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is at the second position with 64 seats. Theparty will get two minority seats according to its seat share. PakistanPeoples Party is a distant third with 42 seats, it would get two minorityseats.
Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal has secured a minority seat on their 12 generalseats. Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Grand Democratic Alliance, BalochistanNational Party and Balochistan Awami Party would receive one women reservedseat each.
