*An incidence of brutal torture of a 10-year old boy, Zohaib, at the handsof a cleric in Sheikhupura district of Punjab has been reported by themedia.*
The chief justice has issued notice to the Divisional Police OfficerSheikhupura to appear before the Supreme Court on Tuesday (tomorrow) alongwith officials of the police station concerned.
Reports say a prayer leader of a mosque within the remits of Saddar policestation brutally beat a minor up over the allegations that he stole moneyfrom the mosque.
Afterwards, the victim boy’s father approached the police station concernedto register an FIR against the cleric but to no avail.
The DPO Shaikhupura and other police officials are required to turn upbefore the apex court on August 7 to submit their respective reports inthis regard.
