ISLAMABAD – After Fakhar Zaman thrashed a number of records duringPakistan’s five-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, which they won it by5-0, he revealed that records and statistics do not matter much to him.

The 28-year old flamboyant opening batsman became the fastest batsman toreach 1,000 runs in ODIs, he scored 515 runs in the series, which is themost by a Pakistani batsman in a five-match bilateral ODI series and becamethe first Pakistani batsman to score a double-ton in the format.

However, the primary focus of Fakhar has always been winning games for hiscountry rather than personal milestones.“Honestly, I’m not a big fan ofstatistics because my primary objective is to help Pakistan win as much aspossible,” Fakhar talking to private news channel said.

“Records are meant to be broken, but for me that aspect is hardly on mymind when I go out to bat,” he added.

“Although there are many players I know who are obsessed with records andvarious other milestones, but to me they matter little since therequirements of the team come first,” he said.—APP
