ISLAMABAD – * Pakistani cricketers playing county cricket in England face abig setback from PCB. *

*Their contracts are in jeopardy as the PCB has decided to conveneQuaid-e-Azam Trophy ahead of schedule.*

The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, in which four-day games are contested, begins fromSeptember 26 every year but it will be played from September 1 this year.

Moreover, the 50-over domestic tournament will also be played side-by-side.

The clubs have stated that they will not issue new contracts to cricketerswho leave halfway through the season.

The English clubs are paying Rs0.8 to Rs1.4 million to Pakistani playersfor playing in county cricket.

Around 150 Pakistani cricketers including Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Irfan Jnr.,Awais Zia, Fawad Alam are playing county cricket in England.
