LAHORE – The Punjab police have decided to contribute to construction ofDiamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.
Senior police officials will donate their two-day salary while juniorstaff, while junior staff will contribute their one-day salary to DiamerBasha and Mohmand Dams Fund – 2018.
The Punjab police chief, while lauding the initiative by Chief Justice ofPakistan Justice Saqib Nisar, said the police personnel would collectivelycontribute Rs120.38 million to the fund.
Syed Kaleem Imam also directed officials concerned to address water wastagein police lines, training colleges, police stations and related offices onimmediate basis.
He said construction of new dams is the need of the hour to address waterscarcity which has reached an alarming level in Pakistan.
