LAHORE – Lahore observed major power breakdown on the third consecutiveday as the increase in demand of electricity in the country, the powershortfall has reached 3000 megawatt.
A prolonged breakdown was observed in numerous areas including Iqbal Town,Islampura and Rehmanpura including many other areas of the Lahore.
Due to the humidity and hot season, the Lahori was troubled all the night.The overall demand of electricity is 21,000MW while the production is18,000MW. LESCO is facing a 550MW power shortage due to which several areasof Lahore are undergoing three to six hours of announced loadshedding.
According to Lesco authorities, the technical fault that occurred lastnight has been controlled whereas the power shutdown is happening as aresult of usual technical faults.
Earlier, a major power crisis hit Lesco late Wednesday night for more thansix hours forcing people to bear the hot and humid conditions.
