ISLAMABAD – The opposition has so far failed to agree on a joint candidatefor the president as Aitzaz Ahsan and Maulana Fazlur Rahman are adamant tocontest the election.
Talking to the media on Sunday, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that they neitherare in alliance with anyone nor were in the past.
He said that they will win if Maulana Fazlur Rahman withdraws from the race.
Kaira said that they were ready to meet Nawaz Sharif on the wish of ShehbazSharif, but the meeting could not occur.
PPP leader Khurshid Shah is hopeful of a reaching consensus on the jointcandidate.
On the other hand, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has reached Lahore tomeet Shehbaz Sharif.
