ISLAMABAD– The National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased toll rates byup to 10 percent.
From Lahore to Islamabad, the toll tax for vehicles has been increased byRs620-Rs680 while for passenger buses the toll tax reached Rs1980-Rs2290.
On the other hand, toll tax for wagons is Rs1140 and for coaster buses itis Rs1600, after an increase of 10 percent.
For trucks the toll tax from Lahore to Islamabad is Rs2680 and for largetrailer it is Rs3830.
According to NHA, currently the vehicles passes through the motorways arebeing charged according to the ratio of Rs1.90 in the name of toll tax.
The increased has been made for commuters using national highways andmotorways, pleading that inflation rate has been increased and that itneeds additional revenue for maintenance of road networks.
