ISLAMABAD: Japanese Foreign Minister Kazuyuki Nakane has conveyed specialmessage to Prime Minister Imran Khan from the Prime Minister of Japan.
He paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday.
He congratulated him on the recent election victory of PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and assuming the office of Prime Minister ofPakistan.
He said that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has made commitment to workclosely with Prime Minister Khan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the State Minister for Foreign Affairson his visit to Pakistan. He recalled the decades long relations betweenPakistan and Japan. He conveyed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancingbilateral economic cooperation through facilitating Japanese businesses.
Bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutualinterest were discussed. Avenues of multi-faceted cooperation between thetwo sides were discussed, including cooperation in education and healthsectors as well as skill enhancement of the youth. Both sides expressedfirm resolve to increase interaction between the two countries.
The Japanese Minister of State expressed the strong desire of thegovernment of Japan to strengthen the existing friendly relations betweenthe two countries based on a long history of economic and developmentcooperation.
Prime Minister expressed the desire to work closely with Japan to expandbilateral cooperation in all areas, particularly in trade, investment,economic and human development. He recalled that JETRO in its 2018 reporthas recognized Pakistan as one of the top friendly destinations forJapanese investment.
Prime Minister also acknowledged the role of economic assistance providedby Japan in social sector projects. Prime Minister said that human resourcedevelopment is a priority of his Government. Pakistan sought support in theeducation sector, science, technological cooperation and vocationaltraining.
Prime Minister also extended an invitation to Japanese Prime MinisterShinzo Abe to visit Pakistan.
