KARACHI – Two MQM workers were sentenced to death by ATC Court in murdercase of senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid.
Shahid was murdered in 2013. She was shot dead outside her residence inDHA, Karachi, on May 18 – the eve of the re-election on Karachi’s NationalAssembly constituency NA-250.
MQM workers Rashid alias Tailor Master, Zahid Abbas Zaidi were convicted ofkilling the female politician while, Irfan alias Lamba and Kaleem wereacquitted from the charge.
On Monday, the court had reserved its verdict, after hearing the finalarguments from the prosecution and defence side.
Earlier, the four detained men had recorded their statements on Aug 2denying their alleged involvement in the murder.
