LONDON – President Mamnoon Hussain and his wife met with former first ladyKulsoom Nawaz in London.
He visited Harley Street Clinic to inquire about the health of KulsoomNawaz.
Hussain Nawaz received the president and his wife at the clinic.
It is pertinent here to mention that Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is undergoingtreatment for throat cancer in London’s Harley Street Clinic.
She was put on life support after the former first lady was admitted to thehospital where she suffered a cardiac arrest. She has been unconscious andon the life support since then.
The former premier’s wife was diagnosed with lymphoma – a cancer of thelymph nodes – in August last year. She has since undergone several sessionsof chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Initially she showed signs of improvementbut as of late her condition has deteriorated.
Kulsoom Nawaz was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan for thefirst time in by-polls held in September last year. She filled the seatthat fell vacant after her husband, Nawaz Sharif, was disqualified by theSupreme Court in the Panama Papers case.
