NEW DELHI – Qatar-based media giant which aired a documentary onIndian-occupied Kashmir lands into trouble as India has withdrawn thesecurity clearance granted to the network.
Though the reasons for the action against Al Jazeera are not known, adocumentary on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir telecast by the channelis believed to have upset the central security establishment, leading tothe decision, said the Times of India in its reportlink.
However, the Qatar-based channel has appealed to the government against thewithdrawal of the security clearance and a final decision on it is awaited.
Security clearance was issued to the channel on December 3, 2010, andrevoked on May 29, 2018, said the reports quoting an official of Indianministry.
