LAHORE – An additional sessions judge granted bail to former inspector AbidBoxer in two cases of police encounter on Friday.
The bail has been granted until September 4.
Earlier, his interim bail was dismissed for not appearing in court since hewas granted bail.
Abid Hussain alias Abid Boxer had joined the Police Department in 1988 asan assistant sub-inspector. He was later promoted to the rank of inspector.He fled Pakistan in 2008 after the police lodged cases against him undermurder, attempted murder, fraud and forgery charges.
The murder case that forced Abid Boxer to flee Pakistan was lodged againsthim at Qila Gujjar Singh police station after the death of a retired armybrigadier, Naseem Ashraf. Ashraf’s wife had lodged the case accusing theformer inspector of killing her husband.
