NEW DELHI – India’s ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) minority morchaleader Aftab Advani on Saturday demanded ‘capital punishment’ for NavjotSingh Sidhu.

Accusing Sidhu of ‘treason’, Advani said that thecricketer-turned-politician’s move will never be forgotten and forgiven bythe people of India.

“Sidhu preferred to attend Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony over thefuneral of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. There’s no place in this countryfor such people,” he added.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) termed Sidhu’s visit as a crime.Addressing the media, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra on Saturday said,”Navjot Singh Sidhu is not just an individual but also a member of apolitical party and a cabinet minister in the Punjab government.

The Congress needs to answer some serious questions in this regard. Navjotmust have known that this man is the so-called President of PoK. He shouldhave objected to sitting next to him.”
