ISLAMABAD – Ice melts between Pakistan and India as caretaker InformationMinister Ali Zafar on Friday met Indian External Affairs Minister SushmaSwaraj in New Delhi.
He extended condolences on the demise of former Indian prime minister AtalBihari Vajpayee.
A four-member delegation from Pakistan, headed by the information minister,attended the last rites of Vajpayee in New Delhi.
Before his departure from New Delhi, the caretaker minister while talkingto media paid tribute to Vajpayee and said they had come to India to extendcondolences to the government and people of India from Pakistan.
He said Vajpaee was a peace-loving person and a farsighted and visionaryleader, adding that both the countries should resolve their disputesincluding that of Kashmir through dialogue and peaceful means.——————————
Pakistan on Thursday condoled the demise of the three-time former primeminister of India and said the government and people of Pakistan extendtheir heartfelt condolences to his family and to the government and peopleof India.
“Vajpayee was a renowned statesman who contributed to bringing a change inIndia-Pakistan relations and remained a key supporter of Saarc and regionalcooperation for development,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
