LAHORE – The National Accountability Bureau’s strong response has surfacedover the release of Sharif family by Islamabad High Court.
NAB will file an appeal in the Supreme against the Islamabad High Court’sdecision to suspend the sentences of the Sharifs in the Avenfieldcorruption reference.
A NAB meeting chaired by chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Wednesdaywas briefed on the IHC decision. During the meeting, it was decided that anappeal would be filed as soon as the IHC’s order was received.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the sentences of Nawaz Sharif,daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfieldcorruption and ordered their release.

The sentences will remain suspended until the final adjudication of theappeals filed by the petitioners.
