WASHINGTON – U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis has arrived in Macedoniawith a warning that Russia was attempting to meddle in a referendum.
Talking to reporters en route to Macedonian capital, Skopje, Mattis saidU.S. does not want to see Russia doing there what they have tried to do inso many other countries.
Macedonia has set Sept. 30 for a referendum to change its name to Republicof North Macedonia which would largely clear the path for it to join NATOand European Union.
