PM Imran Khan takes important decisions over development of Karachi

ISLAMABAD – The Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting on developmentprojects funded by the Federal Government in Karachi.

The meeting was briefed about the ongoing development projects particularlyGreen Line Project and the K-IV water supply project.

While discussing Green Line Project, the Prime Minister directed that arepresentative of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation should be included inthe Board of Directors.

It was informed that Karachi is facing a water shortage of 573 milliongallons per day as against a demand of 918 million gallons.

Prime Minister expressed concern over the water issues of Karachi andemphasized on enhanced coordination between federal and provincialgovernments for co-funded projects.

The meeting was attended by Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Chief MinisterSindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh Azam Sulaiman Khan,Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Sualeh Farooqi, Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar,senior officers of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and Sindh government.

President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan held a meeting inKarachi today (Sunday).

During the meeting, important national matters and Federal Governmentfunded developmental projects for Karachi were discussed.
