ISLAMABAD – PM Imran Khan austerity drive has started to work as adelegation of Pakistan Medical and Dental College (PMDC) has been barredfrom going abroad at public expense.
The matter was brought to the knowledge of NHS Minister Aamer Mehmood Kianiwho directed the official concerned to get the visit stopped at publicexpense as it was against the government’s austerity drive.
The ministry in its letter to PMDC President Mian Sakirullah Jan wrote thatit has been learnt that a PMDC delegation is visiting the Queen MaryUniversity of London.
“It is understood that the University of Queen Mary London is providingfunds for two members of the delegation and for the remaining two, PMDC isproviding funds to visit UK, the letter stated.

In view of the austerity drive, it has been decided that no visit shall beundertaken at public expense, it added.
