ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has gone down one place, from 149 to 150th spot, inthe latest human development index (HDI) ranking issued by the UnitedNations Development Programme (UNDP).
Giving Pakistan an HDI value of 0.562, the report found that the lifeexpectancy at birth in the country is 66.6 years while expected years ofschooling are 8.6. Pakistan’s gross national income (GNI) per capita wassaid to be $5,311.
Pakistan was ranked among the countries with medium human development. Itis worth mentioning that Pakistan was ranked 149 in the UNDP report of 2016.
