LAHORE – Punjab Home Department is reportedly calling 100 companies ofPakistan Army and Rangers for deployment across the province for Muharram10.
Home Department has imposed section 144 across the province.
It has also imposed a ban on pillion riding across the province for aperiod of two days to thwart any untoward incident during Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to a notification issued on Wednesday, the ban on pillion ridinghas been imposed under Section 144 on Muharram 9 and 10.

Families, senior citizens, journalists and government officials have beenexempted from the ban.
A total of 100 companies of the Pakistan Army and the Punjab Rangers willbe deployed across Punjab for security during Muharram.
