ISLAMABAD – The fund dedicated for the construction of Diamer Bhasha andMohmand dams received over Rs 2.062 billion from various individuals andgroups by September 7.

According to the latest update issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP),the “Supreme Court of Pakistan’s Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund”received Rs 52.72 million on September 7.

Out of total received funds of Rs 2.062 billion, the overseas Pakistaniscontributed Rs 88.67million while rest of amount worth Rs 1.97 million was collected fromwithin the country.Meanwhile the SBP has announced through a circular, that in order tofacilitate the donations/payments made to the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand DamFund Account through payment cards (debit, credit or prepaid cards), it hasbeen decided that all issuing and acquiringbanks in Pakistan shall notcharge any service fee including interchange fee, merchant discount rate,transaction fee etc. on such transactions.
